Cora has started eating some veggies.

She tried sweet potatoes first.  She probably got more on her face than in her mouth, but I think she liked them.
Next, she tried carrots…
How do you think she liked them??  Lets just say we have moved on to other veggies!

  • Aaron and Shannon - That face is hilarious! Eli wasn’t a big fan of carrots either!ReplyCancel

  • Brad, Kara, & Braden Janzen - That is SO funny! Braden tried carrots for the first time yesterday, and as with every other food we’ve tried, he showed NO facial expression! He acts like he’s had it all along. I think he gets his facial expressions (or lack there of) from his father. 🙂 Looks like Cora might be the same way! Miss you guys!ReplyCancel

Not a picnic at the park or at the lake, but a picnic in the corn field.  Joel had to work on Labor Day, so we partied in the field.  Ruth made a delicious “tailgate” meal.  Not quite like a K-State football game tailgater, but still lots of fun!

Papa and “Bammy” (Grammy) joined us for the picnic.

Joel loves his new combine.  He says it is awesome, but if you want to know more about it you will have to ask him.  (I know I am the farm wife, but I am not one of those wives that can tell you all about the farm equipment.  I’m learning SLOWLY.)
Joel’s brother, James, has been driving the grain cart.  It looks like such a hard job!  Joel says that I will have to learn someday, but I think I am too chicken.
And here is the grain.  The corn is looking good this year!

Cora had her first bites of rice cereal last week. She ate like a pro. Eating has never seemed to be much of a problem for her!

I love this cheeky, goofy grin. Grown-up food here I come!

  • Amy - So cute! I wish I could have seen you more yesterday, at least to hug you and Cora… but I feared what my lovely little children would do if I left them alone for even a minute. 🙂 Thanks for peeking your head in my door, though! I hope you and Kara are able to connect while she’s in town!ReplyCancel

Twenty-seven. That is how old I am as of last Monday. On my birthday eve my parents hosted a little family party for me. Angel food cake and berries….my FAVORITE!

My birthday started out with a pedicure. Oh, so relaxing (sorry no pictures of that)! Next, was lunch with my mom, dad, and sister.

My parents watched Cora for the evening and Joel took me out on a date. We ate outside at a little cafe with live music. It was definitely a “happy” day!
